If you want 18th century tales of castles, ghosts, secret passages, gloomy settings, evil villains and damsels in distress, this is your book. This particular novel is often held up as the standard of its kind. For those who don't know, this genre is all about dark, mysterious places and occurrences. This is a classic Gothic Romance novel, and so far it has everything you might want in a Gothic Romance. Jelly Roll's show-closing performance capped off a night of strong showings from the other 2023 New Faces. 1 hit, "Son of a Sinner," his current single, "Need a Favor," and his closing number, "Save Me." Other highlights of Jelly Roll's set included his opening song - a new track titled "Halfway to Hell" - as well as his career-altering No. As recently as five years ago, absolutely nobody in country music could have predicted that the new face of country music in 2023 would be covered in tattoos - and, frankly, if anyone had entered the stage in years past by addressing the assembled crowd, "What's up, motherf-ers," security might very well have escorted them off the premises. The performance represented an unexpected changing of the guard in country music, which tends to be conservative in what it will embrace and endorse. I loved the characters, the setting, the writing, and the feelings this book gave me. Yup, that pretty much sums up my feelings on Bittersweet. Have you ever read a book that you really liked, so much so that it is hard to put your feelings into words? Well, this is one of those books for me. She has a bone to pick with him and she’s been waiting a long time to put him in his place but when they’re finally together again, it’s nothing like what they were expecting. Hutch Winston is high on the book boyfriend list and Blake van Hamilton is one badass chick. My next book from her was Fearless and it remains one of my favorites. The demon holding the plaque (with the lion face) is not the Chaldean devil, but is actually the SW wind demon Pazuzu, who was the bearer of drought but also protected children and pregnant women. The plaque is actually a scene of protection. This plaque was created by Chaldeans to show the world was going to end and how the devil was going to be in full control. The figure in the middle on the bottom standing on the horse/donkey is the god Elippu. He claims that this plaque resembles the world and the lion-faced monster holding the plaque is the Chaldean devil, who wants to destroy the world. Here's what this author claims to be a plaque of: There is a part of the book where's he's talking about "devil worship" in Mesopotamia. Holy HELL this book has a crapload of problems and inaccuracies that have been debunked today. Tries to be diverse and talks about all the parts of the world and how these religions and tribal groups worshipped/revered the devil. |
